Provides a variety of safety guides on how to prepare for different types of disasters.

DisasterAssistance.gov

Provides a compilation of disaster resources and services from several U.S. government agencies in a simple website where you can apply for numerous programs through a single application.

Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA)

Explains what disaster assistance and housing needs assistance are, who qualifies, and what other services FEMA offers, provides an online application and apply-by-phone directions, and allows users to check the status of their applications and find out how they can spend their assistance money.

FEMA Disaster Survivor Assistance Program

Provides money and services to people in a disaster area when losses are not covered by insurance and property has been damaged or destroyed. Visit their website to apply, learn more about assistance programs and access other resources.

Florida Department of Education—Hurricane Irma Resources

Provides information on schools closures and reopening.

Illinois Flood Report

The state of Illinois created this site to alert residents of road and waterway closures and post shelter locations, public health warnings, and disaster assistance and recovery information.

Kentucky Division of Emergency Management (KYEM)

Kentucky has several programs to help residents recover from disasters, including the Individual & Family Grant, which provides financial assistance for necessary expenses such as housing repairs, medical, dental, funeral, transportation, or other disaster related needs.

Natural Disaster Resources

Missouri's Department of Natural Resources provides a list of informational resources to help clean up homes and communities affected by severe weather, floods and other natural disasters.

NJ 2-1-1 Hurricane Response and Recovery

NJ 2-1-1 lists information about FEMA assistance and how to apply, clean-up resources and local recovery efforts. They are a trustworthy resource for valid info regarding topics like road and traffic conditions, water and health safety, shelters, power outages and other immediate concerns.

Oklahoma Department of Emergency Management (OEM)

In addition to responding to all emergency situations, OEM works to provide recovery assistance to individuals and communities until services return to normal.

Oklahoma Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster

Oklahoma VOAD is a good source of information on the recovery effort in OK, and finding immediate assistance nearby.

Tennessee State Museum provides helpful information on recovering various objects including 3D artifacts, textiles and garments, paper, books, documents and photographs.

Ready.gov

Provides detailed guides on what to do before, during and after specific emergency situations, compiled by FEMA and the Department of Homeland Security.

ReadyAlabama

Alabama's state wide emergency preparedness campaign designed to encourage Alabamians to develop and use an emergency kit. Provides good information on how to stay informed during an emergency.
